On June 18, 2020, the first Bombardier Innovia APM 300 of the Gold Light Rail Line was delivered to Thailand, at Laem Chabang Port, Chon Buri Province. The two remaining trains, which will be delivered by this August. There are 3 trains with 2 boogies each, served for the Gold Light Rail Line, consisted of 2 serviced trains, and 1 spared train. Such train model is unmanned electric train, featured with rail-guided automatically driving system. The train capacity is 138 passengers per boogie; 276 passengers per train; and 4,200 passengers per hour per direction.
The Gold Line Electric Train Project is a secondary sized public transportation system. The first phase will be commenced 3 stations, namely Krung Thonburi Station (GN1), Charoen Nakhon Station (GN2) and Khlong San Station (GN3), with a distance of 1.80 kilometers, to support the traveling of people in the Thonburi area that has developed into a new potential business district. The overall progress of the project is at 89%, expected to be open for public service in October 2020 as the previous plan. The fare is at THB 15 per trip. It forecasts that the number of passengers for the first year of operation will be 42,260 trips-passengers per day. The Gold Line Project, running to tourist attractions along the Chao Phraya River, such as Icon Siam, Long 1919, etc., will help facilitate passengers and tourists to travel to important places of Bangkok.
